Project 4
Digital surrealism
The task for week 10 - week 12 was to come up with a solid composition using our own elements that we can animate later on
I started of by going through my already saved photos to find pictures that i could use in a composition
Chosen pictures
I chose these pictures because of the theme i was going for , i live in dubai which is a desert but at the same time one of the most developed countries in the world
Also all the pictures i chose were my own shots
Process 1/ composition
i started by using pen tool cut outs from the pictures and try to merge them in a graphical way
- Sky , shot 2
- sand, shot 5
- Me, shot 4
I used these selections to form a foreground, background and focal point
Process 2
After i got done with the basic layout i started adding design elements
the design elements are also from the shots i mentioned above , i used a little blur and levels to fit them in
Final stage was making the composition in an animation style , so i did the cloud and trees i wanted to animate them moving in a wind

- composition is ok
- animate but keep it simple
week 12 till week 14 i spent animating my composition and this is the basic overall progress
process 1
first process was to import the composition into after effects and arrange the layers
i know the files cant be found im just documenting the progress
Process 2
after importing the composition and arranging the layer , i started animating starting with the clouds
so i had three moving clouds i used the position key to time them like there moving alternatively
Process 3
Next i did the tress , i wanted the trees have a rocking movement to give the effects that there moving from wind
For trees i used puppet tool so i can make the trees rock back and forth from one fixed pivot position , i also animated them in an alternate motion
Process 4
just for added excitement i animated the sky also in a wave motion
For this i just used a simple sine wave effect , also added audio
