WEEK 2 TASK 2

week 2 task 2

Emphasis , balance , the golden ratio and rules of thirds

Emphasis

so far what I have got from emphasis is a shape or colour that sets an element apart or stand out from the rest of the art work , an element in the piece which is more eye catching than the surrounding
Design 1

For emphasis I wanted to go something like a bouquet or a bunch of flowers with all similar colour roses but one dead rose with a different colour

Balance

For balance so far I have understood that it is mostly about symmetry between elements and the colour schemes , something that makes it all looked symmetrically and colour balanced

So for balance  I have chosen to do something with water reflection , maybe a sunset, building, or an island using same colour scheme in the reflection and the original would make it look well balanced I think

Reflection

The task made me understand how to covey a catchy subject in between a group of other subjects ,
and I never thought roses are so hard to make

LECTURER FEEDBACK

Exercise 2: The final outcome for emphasis is directly taken from my suggestion, which I expected you to explore with more possibilities. Could play around with the size of the falling petal and the overall composition to have a better representation of emphasis. Approximate symmetry is reflected in the other final outcome. Doing some visual research would help give you more ideas.

Use of Media: Relevant to the exercises but finishing could be neater, especially if ball point pen/pencil is used.

Quality of pictures: Adequate.

Descriptions/Reflection: There is more description found in the first exercise but less in the second one. You need to label and number all the visuals clearly so that when you describe each one, your reader knows what you are saying. Do describe how your design works to achieve a particular principle. Your reflection is noted but it would be good to include your learning experience for that particular week's topic.

Lecturer's feedback: Should include all the verbal feedback I gave during tutorial into the blog.

Overall blog: For each week's topic, you should have a summary of that week's principles and include some visual examples related to the topic so that your blog is more complete. For example, Week 3: Lecture Topic, Research, Exercise, etc.
