INSTRUCTIONS
EXCERCISES
Exercise 1 - Book Mock up
For this exercise we had to make different sizes of a book smaller than A4 but bigger than A5. The lengths could be any between that range .
I started with following sizes :
- 220mm x 195mm
- 235mm x 170mm
After which i made a cut out to see how the size felt .
Fig 1.2 cut out 220mm x 195mm |
After doing this cut I didn't really like size and also i made some rough cuts so I just repeated the process with different sizes.
The new sizes i chose were :
- 220mm x 173mm
- 213mm x 165mm
After choosing the size I made another test cut with this size.

The test cut was satisfactory for me so i moved on to cutting out 8 more spreads to make a book mock up .
After which To bind them together , I used 4 paperclips which I thought were pretty convenient

Here is the final of the book mock up

Reflections
Initially I went into the module pretty blank and not knowing what expect , But that quickly changed to a very good mood as our exercises started to progress . Since we were doing the exercises in class i think it gave me a more easier time as i could spend all my time working on my project 1 etc. I think at least one of the factors i really liked that we we were given a chance to write our content and make our own art work , really kept me indulged and interested through the weeks.
